Harwich’s Stanton EuroPark to be redeveloped by Burney Group

The Plot One Stanton EuroPark in Harwich has been bought by Burney Group for an undisclosed fee.

The sale was negotiated by Glenny’s Business Space Agency, and the redevelopment will be designed and project managed by the firm’s in-house architectural division, Dovetail, and a number of other national operators.

Designated government freeport area status is expected to be granted for the six-acre site ahead of the planned redevelopments, which will, subject to approval, be transformed into a 60-bed Travelodge Hotel and a Starbucks Drive Thru.

Daren Burney, managing director of Burney Group, said: “This is a thriving location for retail, employment, and trade, and we’re excited to bring forward this new development that will be a positive addition to the community.”

The Burney Family, founders and owners of Burney Group, now boasts a large nationwide commercial property portfolio. Many of the group’s restaurant and drive-thru projects over the last 20 years have been overseen by Dovetail, including the recently completed 56-bed Travelodge in Boston, Lincolnshire, and a 99-bed Travelodge next to Ipswich Town Development. The latter is due to be completed in August 2022, subject to planning.
